Hi and welcome to CN Collectables website for Triang Minic Ships, Mountford Model Ships and other toys, books, diecasts, heritage transport magazines and paraphernalia.
Yes RFA Argus has docked. It is a brand new model and made of metal. The first in the new series of XAS models by Mountford.
We have also new stock of various ferries and the O class submarines. Also some other Mountford items and some kits to be listed when photoed.
With old and used items we use three categories mint/good, playworn/reasonable and tatty for restoration ie for TLC. It takes time to get the listings set up and then when we have an item it just takes some photos to make it live again. Then there will be more small Triang warships and some full hull battleships.
You are welcome to look around and then if you want to make a purchase please register and off you go.
Many of the Triang Minic Ships range are still available except for MOST Container Ships, 2011 type 23s, US Carriers and some tankers. Sometimes we are able to acquire out of stock ships on the secondary market, ie from other collectors or shops. Stocks are diminishing. The Library section is where previous newsletters and articles on Triang Ships are stored. The most recent one in the library is the May 2018 newsletter.
We have used stock of most of the popular harbour accessories such as quay straights, breakwaters, warehouses, oil tanks, customs sheds and cranes. There are 2 categories really; used and very used. If what you want isn’t listed then please email. Time to list is always at a premium.
We only list an item on one of our sites and give it a unique code number. You will find many items which are only on this site. From time to time there are some special offers. There are also a good range of old ships. One of our specialities is the Tender Loving Care category which is for repaint and restoration. Triang ships are amazingly tough. Another category is the 2018 Sale which is a selection of mostly Navy ships with slight faults, usually the printing. I think that the manufacturing process prints the decal and then the bubble almost at the same time so sometimes the ink doesn’t quite dry or the print doesn’t quite take. It’s reasonable to suppose that the other sides are fine.
Recently we have added some more heritage Transport magazines. I am a member of a variety of these and think that it is a good way to spread the word about them by recycling the magazines which they produce.
Sometimes the emails don’t seem to work, if you don’t receive a confirmatory mail of purchase or of despatch please let us know and we will try and fix it. Likewise the stock control system can be a bit random. On some orders it works and on some it doesn’t. We don’t seem to be able to fix it so try asap and remove from sight when sold all the used items of which there is only one.
CN Collectables on Ebay is now into its 18th year now and continues because it is so easy to use in almost every part of the world. Our Groovycart shop is still open as it shows up frequently on internet searches. This site is now in its second year
There is no news on any further Triang releases but we can confirm that Charles is alive and well and we had a long conversation in November but silence ever since. Our Mountford Model Ships list is still expanding and there are new releases too on a regular basis. Expected next are RFA Argus, HMS Ocean and RFA Sir Galahad. We also hope for some new stock of submarines, the Bay class RFA and Ben My Chree Isle of Man ferry.
with very best wishes
Clive and Dave
