Here is a rare example of M983, the Royal Navy Carrier Task Group Set, part of the 1st Series of Triang Minic Ships..

Produced around 1959/60 and containing models of HMS Albion, a ton class minesweeper, a V class frigate and a cruiser.  All the models are secured by a single thread. There are HMS Swiftsure, Virago and Sefton. All the ships are as left the factory.. The ships are blue.

The inner lining of sea effect card is almost mint. The outer box in which it sits is excellent.

The lid cover has some wear and damage to the corners.  The colouring of the classic design is good overall.

60 years on they are rare and an attractive collectable which captures the spirit of that time..
