Type 31 is a general purpose frigate weighing about 6283 tons and 138metres in length (455 ft). Speed in excess of 28 knots, crew up to 160.Arms 24 missile pods, 57mm and 2 40mm guns. Wildcat or Merlin capable with hangar. 4 boat bays for RHIBS. There are plans for five of this class to be built initially with the first in water in 2023.
