Time for some updates and some future planning!

Thank you for reading. As it’s been a few months, there’s a lot to pack in!

Recent arrivals of CNC model ships in 1250 scale have included five Round Tables, HMS Yarmouth and HMS Plymouth, several Leanders, CS Iris in two versions, HMS Endurance, and the five Hull Trawlers that became the 11th MCM Flotilla in the Falklands.

We have now made 42 ship models from the Falklands Conflict and there are just a few left to dock in September. We have sent Gift Sets all around the world and have created individual ones for some customers. It was a real challenge to not only make these ships but to guess the numbers to make. Several ships are now nearly sold out.

It is hard to believe that a year ago we bought the whole 1250-scale former Mountford Models Catalogue. Many small items were transferred from one lock up in Bristol to our new one in Birmingham (so we are still finding all sorts of bits and pieces and regularly listing them on the website).

We have begun assembling several of the ship kits purchased, and these will be listed as complete models. They are in essence all discontinued Mountford Models, made and boxed as CNCollectables.

Whilst we have all the masters for Mountford, it’s customer demand that will inform whether any of these are remade. Thanks to you we’ve just collected some models including RCN Tribal Class destroyers, USS Simon Lake, HMS Victorious, various Italian Oilers, and some Waves.

It was the end of our financial year in June so it’s time for a stocktake at the lockup and office. We are closed for orders from Tuesday 5th July to Tuesday 19th to sort through all our new and pre-loved items.

After the break we will reveal many hidden gems and sales of surplus stock!

We have just released twelve deck load sets suitable for RFA ships. They are all metal and painted and a response to some of the feedback on the Bay Class we made last year. These include Mexeflotes and LCPs and LCTs.

On 23rd July we shall release our new 1200 scale boat, the Astute Class. This will be bagged and mounted on the Triang Minic Series 4 cards. With the ever-increasing price of metal we decided to bring this model forward and it works out at £7.95. We hope that you like it.

Later this year there will be some more Triang Type 23s in Lifex mode. We have learned a lot this year and the next batch will show this. Eg the underneath will be painted. We plan to make all those ships now in service after their refits.

Future plans for models and ships?? These are down to you and your responses.

We have the masters for Portsmouth Dockyard that make two A3 kits. We can make a single kit and a double A3 kit, but before going ahead we need some firm interest.

We also have several folks who want us to remake the two Devonport Kits; we can do this before the end of the year. Please let us know if you want one as we need firm orders.

We shall gradually remake our Brittany and Condor ferries and update their liveries where appropriate. We also want to remake the 1250 ships that are out of stock and are still in demand.
